advance diablo users please come forward
hi there,
some of you may have read my review on the Advance Diablo foilkite on this site and www.racekites.com.i’d be very interested to hear your own views and experiences on this very rare and unusual kite. im making this request based on these comments http://www.racekites.com/reviews/kite_advance_diablo_2.asp
as i found them to be untrue during the 4 month long testing phase. if sheeted out as suggested the kite would accelerate out of the window and nosedive, and if left at zenith fully depowered (whatever position the trimmer was in) the kite would fold either at the centre section or tips.
to myself it seemed as though the low drag and high inertia simply prevented the kite from stopping at the edges of the window, as well as feeling that the kite would benefit from more internal bracing so that it maintains its shape during a lull, for i found the kite only retained its form when under tension.
i must make it clear that this is not an attack on Advance kites or thier users, the performance and turning impressed me greatly but the erratic nature of its flight characteristics not only made it extremly frustrating to use, but somewhat intimidating and rather dangerous.
perhaps the kite just isnt suited to u.k. conditions, but i still feel snowkiting with it is rather risky.
please discuss.

where you are going with this (I thought we were through this as you are no longer a Diablo rider)??? I read the review that you are referring to (signed Joel) and it very much coincides with my standpoint that you have to be very sensitive of the kites AoA as far as maintainaing the aerodynamic flow around it (especially the tips) in order for it to ”sit tight”.
