Skotten needs advice…
Publicerad av skotten på 21 mars, 2010 vid 21:45I have a mate building an extension on his house, and to me it seems like the guy didnt really know what he was talking about and how much it was going to cost. Are there any carpenters, electricians etc in here that would be willing to speak with him and give him an honest heads up on what could go wrong and how much it should be costing?? please, it would be really appreciated.

Säg till din kompis att anlita en byggare med bra referenser och räkna med att det blir dyrt, det blir det alltid.
Ett bra exempel är är en elinstallation vi gjorde på firman, blev fakturerade 50 000:- bara på en kabel som sedan visade sig kosta 10 000:- om vi köpt den själva… :shocked: -

Hey buddie!
The firm should give him a totalcost, then he should contact other entrepenors to give offers.
But as the above says, it costs alot to do it right and stable so to speak.If I where in his shoes I would take in alot of second opinions from other firms.
To set down cost could also be to buy material himself and then let out the job… but then you have to know what to buy and if you don´t have alot of time….it sucks.
THen it´s the ROT abduction, but I dont know if that complie wiht building out the house.We´ll alot of mish mash but after building a key house with arrchitect I know the cost……MILLIONS and probably worth 2 M:s less…. WELL!
ANd then PAPERS on everything, check whats incl and whats not…. one should start from a ready building…. and ask, is painting incl, is bordlists incl, is electricity incl, etc etc…

And dont pay anything in advance. Split the work/cost up and pay only for the things that are done and checked!

THAT`S A GOOD ONE!
So try to Secure a amont around 15-20% of total payment that pays out AFTER ”besiktning” (don´t know the word, thus checking the buildings and you agree that everything is made after specs etc).
