Någon som står upp för tre-medars mot Jeff Brown?
På general-forumet gps ice-sailing i översta tråden om wobbling så kan man väl säga att vår vän Jeff Brown dissar tre-medars! Någon som står upp mor mästaren?
”Here is the US we all sail 4 blade designs and are not a problem with speed wobbles. I think the key is to address what kind of bushings are in your trucks and how to tighten them.
The Hiberna boards have developed thier own truck design and although I have never sailed one, I have seen them up close and see just how wobbly that system is. Those boards are designed for slalom races, as those race organizers have created.
Again, here in the US, when we do slalom racing, we allow the course to have enough room for very fast and wide curcumfrenced turns. We would use the same board/trucks but tune the turning radius to allow easier mark roundings.
For speed, tighten the trucks.
I see no need for 3 blade designs, I have built them, raced them and speed sailed with them. They are more unstabile and slower than the 4 blade designs we use. The single rear blade may be slightly more stabile, or controlable than the single front blade, but is most certianly slower as the blade digs in deeper…..which equals slower.”
