Jag har blivit erbjuden att betala en 6-7000:- m. fena. Har du idé om vad man bäst använder för rigg om jag bara köper ett segel till att börja med?

Den som har en Drops är sannolikt en seriös och kunnig seglare. Fråga säljaren i första hand. Han/hon borde veta. Det bör handla om stora segel för denna bräda. Vi talar minst 7,5, snarare över 8kvm. Fenan skall vara snygg och ha rätt längd, men det brukar det vara. En boardbag är bra för denna juvel. Ingår ev?

Around the course:
It´s a light air course board, almost 75 cm wide and excels at extreme angles upwind and downwind. When beam reaching, it´s important to stay on the 58 cm race fin to free the board and reduce wetted surface. The upper rails are curved for your feet.

Light Air:
The FL11 carries extreme width throughout the body and tail. It will carry sails 8.5 to 10.6 comfortably. With jumbo sails, you can plane in 5 to 7 knots. Like all AVS boards, itt needs a push to pop onto plane in lighter conditions.

Jibing:
Extremely wide race boards definitely jibe and carry speed throughout a turn, but in comparison to many of the large freeride boards, the are much more difficult to turn. The FL11 has vertical and sharp rails aft, full rails forward and an extremely long fin. It likes wide turns and feels slightly stiff, but can maintain speed. If you sit back, it´s easy to stall the board from reducing to much rail line.

Control:
It rides best in 6 to 15 knots and the ideal sails range from 9.0 to 10.5. It´s the most forgiving race board in the test, upwind and downwind and doesn´t sacrifice any performance. Racers and light-air cruisers can sail confortably but need to focus in the turns.

Comments:
The FL11 is much easier to sail than its predecessor, the FL10. It´s faster around the course and more forgiving on beam and broad reaches. The AVS tail adds control sailing deep off the breeze and the foot indentations on the rail under the straps really add comfort to the ride.
