Kiteboarding på Öland för nybörjare
Hej,
jag är på väg till Öland nästä veckan och behöver nårga tipps var man kan kitesurf där. Tyvärr min svenska är så dåligt att jag måste använda engelska för mina frågor- jag läste några artiklar från här men jag inte förstod alla nyanser från discussionen.
So..
I’m a pretty much newcomer for the sport (have a very solid windsurfing background -12 years on board), started kitingsnowboarding last winter using LEI
kites and now I’m ready to try to kitesurf. So I’m
seeking a good spot for learning from the Öland island where I can practise the basic skills like waterstarting etc. So the preferable place should be pretty shallow water (waist deep ?). Could you please
compile a little spotguide for the island where a ”kook” can go depending on the
wind directions.What I have understood from the previous postings in this forum there is a little bit squabble between the windsurfers and kitesurfers on the island especially at Hagapark, but is the kiting totally banned there ??
What other places are suitable for a newcomer with an easy beach access (not much walkingf rom a car, I’m lazy
), some what have mentioned where:Hela Böda bukten (innan badarna kommer) S till NÖ, prova gärna lite längre norrut än Böda där det är betydligt mindre folk även på sommaren.
Hela Grankullavik, totalt plattvatten jämt. Starta innefrån viken från Panget till trollskogen, grymt långgrunt. V-SÖ. Även Norligt faktiskt beroende på var du väljer att starta. Det fina är att du måste verkligen anstränga dig att flyga ut ur viken.
Byrum, norra delen, lite stenig botten men annars kanon. S-SV. Kör förbi första stranden ända ner till sista parkeringen, gå sedan utemed stranden till lämligt take off.
Böda by och Söderut, ner till Löt, hela denna stäcka är full med stränder som är tok grunda, S-NÖ beroende på strand.
Please could someone give some suggerstions which of these are suitable for a newcomer which will certainly drift downwind?

About Haga Park.
The only reason why kite isnt allowed on the surfspot at hag ais because its a bird protection area (good swenglish, dont you think) just north of the spot an the kites have been up to some shit there. people cant hold there kites and drift of in the southwestly winds.There is a recomended spot a bit down south, like 200 metres, sandbergen. But if your a newbie you are, as you are sayin, most certanly will drift of, into the bading and then into the surfing area, and we all know what comes after the surfingarea…
The Grubble people talk about does not come from that the windsurfers dont like kiters, there are people in the windsurfingclubs boardinggroup that kites as well.
But if we hadn´t forbidden kite at haga we, the windsurfers, might have been forbidden there as well.
And it seemed lika at pretty small adjusment for the kiters to go away (or drive) 200metres and let the windsurfers (whom where there first) have their spot.Its like 20 metres to the shore from the parkinglot, at the most. Closer than the windsurfbeach.
