Here in Qatar I do meet plenty of local people, and guess where?
Yes, IN THE BARS! They get out of their traditional clothing in the parking lot (because they are not allowed in wearing them) go in and ”get pissed”! So mayby they too just discoverd the only way of having fun here?

As a matter of fact it´s gone so far that the Emir introduced a new law overnight about 2 months ago, that all bars must register name and ID/Passport NO. of ALL guests entering just to keep the locals out. And the Emir did this after making an unnotifyed visit to one of the big hotels were he saw quite few locals, men and woman, having fun (getting pissed).

I never said that it was not fun to drink. What i think is wrong is when one generalizes . I have been to many places in the ”western world# and do not put every country in the same basket. I do also think that when one travels to a new place he or she should try to discover new ways of thinking and learn about new cultures instead of wanting everything to be just like in the ” western world”.
