Slingshot riders have been arrested….
This is a copy of the email I sent to the Islamorada Police. Feel free to copy it, modify it, and send it to them yourselves. The more people supporting the prosecution case against Hamish, the better it will be for our sport in the long run.
Dear Captain Leiter and Deputy Sanchez,
I’m writing to support your case against Hamish McDonald, a kitesurfer who is charged with jumping one of your boats, disrespecting and endangering the police officers on board.
Hamish McDonald and the kite company he rides for, ”Slingshot” http://www.sskiteboarding.com are well known for causing problems on beaches world-wide. The company and its riders promote and aggressive, ”get fucked,” in-your-face attitude. Other Slingshot riders have been arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct; the company actually used their arrests as a promotional marketing tool.
On the online kiteforum http://www.kiteforum.com, Hamish McDonald wrote:

faggit”Slingshot, Slingshot riders, and their attitude are destroying our sport.
Anyone who writes like Hamish McDonald (above) is obviously:
` Deserves to be smashed, to the full extent of the Law.
` Is more than likely guilty of whatever crime he is charged with.
` Is guilty of having a shit attitude which, in itself, is leading to bans, and which should be smashedHamish McDonald should be sued to the full extent of the Law.
I, for one, support every effort by the Islamorada police to clamp down on this sort of attitude and behaviour and congratulate you for your courage and persistence in pursuing this case.
Hamish and Slingshot deserve to be prosecuted on this issue. The whole Slingshot ”get fucked” in-your-face attitude is leading to bans everywhere. The sooner team Slingshot and their riders get their comeuppance, the better it will be for our sport.
None of us REALLY believe that Hamish DIDN’T jump that boat. They have pulled similar, and worse, stunts in the past. The Slingshot boys think this sort of behaviour is hysterical; high-fives and back-slapping all round. We all know they go around congratulating each other after pulling lame stunts like pissing in each others mouths, setting fire to their hotel rooms, talking about anal sex, treating women like sluts, and bringing fake wanker attitude to the beach.
Hamish jumped that boat. Period. He was trying to be cool and get cred with the rest of the Slingshot dickheads. In so doing, he endangered the police on that boat, created bad-will amongst the police, made all kitesurfers look like dickheads, and has given a LOT more ammunition to people who want to ban kitesurfing.
A lot of people fully support your prosecution case. Please don’t give up on it.

Jag lovar att det är den där Rick Iossi i Florida som skrivit inlägget. Han har tagit på sig att vara mister säkerhet worldwide verkar det som. Har själv blivit utskälld av honom.

Nautical boy Hamish MacDonald was mistakenly arrested by Marine Patrol after he jumped their patrol boat just inside the event markers. The Marine Patrol admitted the mistake after Hamish explained that being under sail has right-of-way over being under engine power on the starboard tack.

Rick Iossi är en paragraf ryttare utan dess like… han är dessutom främlingsfientlig!!
han var klart avig mot oss när vi var i Miami å kitatde, höll på å tjafsade om en massa licenser och avgifter för att få köra osv…visst han gör en del bra prylar för sporten och säkerheten men verkar övervägande sitta å nätkita mer en att ha kul på vattnet -
