The Da Kine GOES OFF!!! New moves
What a comp man! We just had a killer 1st PWA event for 2000 here in Maui, with all the pros going off. The highlight was definitely Francisco’s INSANE double loops, landed perfectly. Jason, my brother was the youngest ripper at the top, and Kevin Pritchard came back from last place to win the comp! Unreal. Keith Taboul had his best ever result easily winning the 1st round and then ending up 2nd after KEvin got him in the 2nd round. Josh Angulo had a solid 3rd, and I finally got to use my new AIR SPOCK in competition which helped me get 4th. They were cool and I will definitely put some pics in the pics section once I get some. Francisco took 5th because of a bad heat, and Paul Bryant from Kauai tied with him in 5th place. I hope all of our contest for the year are this fun!!! STOKE! Some insane new wave moves and jumps are coming out, a lot influenced by freestyle. It’s very exciting to see energetic progression. I will post new moves as they come out.Party Time in Nueseedle
The PWA is headed back to Podersdorf, Austria to kick of the first Gran Prix of the year. Freestyle in Nueseedle See is excellent, but the best reason for all of us pros going back is definitely the parties! YEEEEHAAAAA!!!! The comp dates are April 22-29, so if you happen to be in that neck of the woods and get some time, come and have some REAL fun.Josh Goes to JP
This year I have decided to ride for JP Boards. I have been getting a lot of email concerning the move. I want everyone to know that I made this move because I am ready for a new challenge in my life, and I think that JP Boards has incredible potential to be the best and the biggest. I am also stoked to be working with Jason Polakow and Werner Gnigler again on designs. Jason P. and I make a great team and together we really push each other to our limits. I of course still think F2 is a great company, and I enjoyed all of my years there. Stay tuned for some news about our new boards for 2001. I will definitely put ”New stuff” segment with all of our prototype designs. Let me know what you think of the stuff you are riding and if you need any help getting it set up. I just got to test the new designs for the JP 251 wave board, and I think everyone will be stoked. It is floatier, planes earlier, goes upwind really good, and is much easier to turn for sailors of all levels. I think most of you will love it.© Josh Stone & Caspar
