Edit: on second thoughts it looks a bit too hilly to the SE. Would work much better in a NE wind.

About 20-30cm on the fjord. But thin and icy in some areas about 500m out. I just avoided those places. I only had problems getting grip when starting and stopping. When riding it felt fine (e.g. I could edge and jump)

The field right next to ”pendelparkering” looked good, but the wind needs to be more from the east to get a reasonably long run there. Might be fine if you just wanted a quick 1-hour session though.

I suspect that there could also be some good spots on the Tjolöholm side, south of Torkelstorp (I’m probably never going to guess the spelling of that one).

See my post on previous page. The north end of the fjord is good. Much better snow coverage than V. Nedsjön. A bit more gusty but pretty good.

Anywhere in the fjord were it is shallow should be safe, but I can’t make promises.

Had a great session in virgin snow on Kungsbacka fjord. Parked at the ”pendelparkering” right up at the north end. Great snow. Variable wind (3-8ms) but mostly steady.

I wouldn’t trust the deeper parts of the fjord though.

Snowboards: In thin snow I feel I have to but the back-plates angled back as far as they go (0 degrees) otherwise it feels terrible. Anyone tried kiting with the back plates removed?

Det kan komma in lite snö i mellan plastdetaljerna på bar om man krashar mycket men hållbarheten är inget problem. Jag fick en ofrivillig release av kiten en gång då nån gummistropp på quickreleasen frös men allts som allt så fungerar vanliga kiter lika bra på snö som vatten.

slalomskidor eller snowboard allt fungerar.

If you just book it as ”golf” with the online system (there is no other kind of sport gear available) and if it is not much more than 15kg then it costs 400. Had no problems. If you have a golf style kitebag then you can book direct with the airline and get it for 300 I think.

Lighwind on a budget: anyone interested in a Speed Silverarrow 17 with
Speed 2 depower system fitted? 5500 complete. No repairs/holes.

I’ve decided to upgrade to the speed 3 19, although I ride bow/hybrids for all my smaller kites these days.

The lightweight material of the delux/silverarrow is amazing stuff, in the air and in the bag. And packs down smaller than a 7m bow. Saved many a day on holiday. Starting to sound like a liftass ad.

Det skulle vara kul att höra ifrån någon som kan jämföra hur mycket lägre vind den kiten fixar jämfört med Ozone Zephyr som designad för att vara bra för lättvind, 17kvm och kostar ”bara” 14990.

Lättvind för Ozone är egentligen en kite som går att använda på riktigt från ca 5 m/s. Med andra ord leverera tryck till den vanliga åkningen två m/s tidigare än jag brukar gilla det. Men den funkar tidigare, vid 4 m/s har jag kört den, det funka men sög – det gör lättvindskiting generellt för mig, tacka vet jag vind!

It was a sobering experience. Made me think long and hard about all the solo sessions I’ve done. We were about five people who carried you out of the water that last bit (we floated you onto my spleen session). If it had just been one other person I’m not sure how you would have got out, and hypothermia would have been a real possibility.

The windsurfing couple with the van, among others, did a great job in looking after you btw (you should drop them a line on the windsurf forum).

I learned some useful lessons. I’ve promised myself that I’ll try to go where others are riding, and I’ll buy a cheap mobile phone and a waterproof bag.

Good luck with the recovery. You’ll be back.
