I just tried the Ozone Instinct ’06, and man, I love this kite. No bar pressure, pretty fast, no pulleys, easy relaunch and a rugged design. Although it is their first inflated kite, you can really see that they put a lot of brain into it.
You get a lot of windrange, compared to my Switchblade it might be the same, but riding the Instinct overpowered is much more relaxed due to the little bar pressure. I guess you can get it pretty cheap as soon as the new 07 is out. -

I think they would piss their own leg if they would build a hybrid. It´s a question of philosophy (or almost religion 😀 ). There is a hard battle going on between ”hybrids” (F-one etc.) and ”bows”, both state that their solution is the perfect one. Coming out with a hybrid would mean that they admit that they’ve been on the wrong path with the bows.
I haven´t seen the Omega yet, but it seems like the only thing that has really changed is the bar, and maybe some small changes with the kite. Enough to unleash a new product that is so much better than everything before (marketing…)

Well, I am German, but there is not so much worthful information to be found in this document, lots of blabla. Everything seems the same than eg. SB2, except one thing.
The only technical ”innovation” is that the bar can be used with or without pulleys. Nothing really new though, with pulleys your kite will turn faster and you have more depower potential, without the bar pressure decreases.
They argue that the no-pulley version is good for unhooked riding, because the bar pressure is almost not there anymore. If I meet someone from cabrinha I will ask him to explain that to me, without breaking the laws of physics… -
Jag var snökiting i Alpen förra vintern. Försök att gå till en glaciär. Vinden är inte så byig där, och det finns stora ytan. Men man måste vara mycket försöktig där, daför att det finns lawiner, glaciärsprickan, så inte snökite utan prata med en local.

You are absolutely wright there! I reacted on that too. But I do not think it is hard to gett away from the chicken loop…It´s not ok to be too easy to disconnect the chickenloop, as on the old Crossbow -06 without real security leash for ex.
We can still ”steal” the smart solutions;-)

I have a switchblade 06, I guess it is the same bar than the CB. I never released it unintended, but a friend of mine did. Forutnately I did not have to release it intentionally until now, but it is a very simple movement which I use to remind before each session – just grab the chickenloop and push your hand forward. If your kite is broken, he will create some serious power even if you have the bar on full depower, so a leash is not really what you want to have in this situation. So both ways are not the perfect solution, but I guess it is very important that you can get your kite away as easy as possible. I just read of a guy being drowned in Germany, he didn´t manage to release his kite and was draged through a lake for 2km.

The new best bar might be pretty good, but I don’t like the qick release. I think if you are in real trouble you will have a hard time to get your kite away. And they tend to make something out of nothing, what might be a good marketing, but does not make a good product.

Javisst, jag har en bonuskort. Men trotts allt är handskarna mycket för dyrt. Och, Mr. Kiteloop-rotation-noboard, jag redan har tejp, inte röd, men fästan ganska bra och snygg.
